The Choreographic Center NRW is located in the former wash house of the colliery "Zeche Zollverein", shaft 1/2/8, in Essen. Following a 12 month conversion phase, in accordance with plans by the Frankfurt architect Christoph Mäckler, the wash house was re-opened in summer 2000 in its new form as a home for the Choreographic Center NRW.

Seating capacity:
The Choreographic Center NRW is equipped with two variable stage halls.
Large stage: 250 seats max.
Small stage: 99 seats max.
