The stars that have been assigned to each of the categories, respectively, are the result of a voluntary hotel classification according to international standards. Lodgins without a star designation did not participate in the voluntary hotel classification. This, however, is not connected with a conclusion ragarding their standard. The result of the German hotel classification finds its printout in a federally uniform classification sign and a certificate.

The stars represent categories which have the following meanings:
***** = Luxus
****  = First Class
***   = Comfort
**    = Standard
*     = Tourist

Please note that the Tourist Office is acting only as an intermediary between you and the host. A valid contract is only possible between you and the host. The Touris Office may only be held liable for the orderly passing of your wishes, not for faults of service or agreements that have not been kept.
