Advisory service for people with disabilities

WHO ARE WE?

The advisory service office is part of the Gesundheitsamt (Health Office) / Kinder- und Jugendgesundheitsdienst (Children's and Youth Health Services), Hindenburgstr. 29, 2nd floor: Rooms 2.26 and 2.27

WHO ARE WE HERE FOR?

Our attention is particularly focussed on families with children and young people who suffer from delayed development or disabilities.
However, we also provide advisory services to other family members affected by disability, disabled persons living alone, and interested parties who want more information on the subject of living with disability.

Not everyone starts life healthy, or stays that way!
Supporting a child through its development means keeping sight of its individual needs and abilities. Sometimes the health and development of a child or young person give grounds for concern, and sometimes family members are suddenly affected by disability.

In such situations, families invest a great deal of time and energy into providing care. In many cases, families and individuals must change their life plans, take up offers of support and therapy, and completely restructure their everyday lives.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

We offer you advisory services and informative discussions, and get the services moving that you think are important, in a way that is appropriate for your family, and support you in your needs.
For example, you can receive information on the following

  • Therapy programmes such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and therapeutic education
  • Support options in the early range
  • Child day-care facilities and schools, focussing on integration
  • Alternative types of accommodation for children, young people and adults
  • Severe disability IDs and care allowances
  • Leisure and holiday programmes
  • Assistance with everyday tasks

The discussions can be held in the advisory service office, or at your home if required.
