Do you have any questions on the European Union or on other European topics? Are you looking for EU-publications for children, students and youth? Are you interested in events on current European topics? One of 49 Europe Direct Information Centres all over Germany is available in the “Haus der Technik” in Essen, serving as an EU citizens’ service.

Services

Locally in Essen: In addition to online information such as the newsletter or this website, EUROPE DIRECT Essen offers advanced training, events, materials for teachers, children and citizens as well as advice on EU topics.

Centrally in Brussels: In addition to that, the head office in Brussels offers EU advice on your individual questions from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 18.00 on the phone number 00 800 6 7 8 9 10 11, free of charge.
You can also send your request via e-mail; you will receive a reply within three working days. You can ask your question in your mother tongue (official EU language). (see: link on the right)

The Europe Direct network is funded by the European Commission and is therefore free of charge for citizens.

When and where

You can find the EUROPE DIRECT Essen in the “Haus der Technik”, Hollestraße 1 g (East Entrance), ground floor / level 3. Essen central station (“Essen Hauptbahnhof”), the Tourist Information, the Consumer Centre, the Central Library, the Citizens' Office and the Welcome and Service Center Essen are also in the immediate vicinity.

In the Europe Direct Information Centre, you have the possibility to, for example, take a look at the wide range of free brochures or use other services:

Mondays to Fridays:

  • From 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
  • In the afternoon: upon request.

Upon request we are available at other times. In any case, we recommend making an appointment in advance.
