Parking in Essen city centre is divided into 3 zones

Parking zone 1: City core area
Parking zone 2: Expanded city area, and core areas of the larger district centres
Parking zone 3: City edge zones, boundary areas around larger district centres, and smaller district centres

Parking zone 1: City core area

Maximum parking time:

90 minutes

Fees:

01 - 15 minutes:

0,40 Euro

16 - 30 minutes:

0,50 Euro

31 - 90 minutes:

0,70 Euro for each started 15 minutes

With a few exceptions, fees are due from Monday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Parking zone 2: Expanded city area, and core areas of the larger district centres

Maximum parking time:

120 minutes

Fees:

01 - 15 minutes:

0,10 Euro

16 - 30 minutes:

0,30 Euro

31 - 120 minutes:

0,30 Euro for each started 15 minutes

With a few exceptions, parking fees are due from Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Parking zone 3: City edge zones, boundary areas around larger district centres, and smaller district centres

Maximum parking time:

between 30 minutes and 120 minutes as stated on location

Fees:

No fees, but the use of parking discs is compulsory

With a few exceptions, parking discs are compulsory from Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition, there are parking garages, car parks, underground parking garages and motorcycle parking available in the city centre. These can be called up using the geographical information system.
